The campaign aims to raise awareness around testing for blood borne viruses, through a series of online video stories. The videos show members of our diverse community in day-to-day situations talking about the peace of mind of knowing their status.

‘Introduction to Cultural Competence’ is an interactive online training module which will help you be more culturally aware and responsive to the needs of your diverse clients. The duration of the training is 30-40 minutes. This training can be accessed from any computer with internet access and can be completed at the user’s own pace. This training is suitable for health, community and government workers working with clients from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds.

To celebrate youth week this year, the Multicultural Sexual Health Network (MSHN) held a forum to share knowledge and tools to provide quality sexual health and healthy relationships education to young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds. We also launched our new resource, SHARE.

Raising awareness on sexually transmissible infections (STIs) and blood borne viruses (BBVs) is imperative in improving the health education of migrant and refugee communities. A way we do this is through the Peer Education program.

Find out more about the activities of Multicultural Health & Support Service (MHSS), a program which works with refugees, asylum seekers, migrants and mobile populations in metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria to prevent new incidences and transmission of blood borne viruses (BBV) and sexually transmissible infections (STI).
