“Do I feel comfortable talking about sex and contraception?’

Sex can be a big step, and everyone experiences it differently.

However, it is important that you feel safe and comfortable talking about sex, sexual health and contraception. Being prepared is smart. It shows you have respect for partner/s and yourself.

WHY-SHY? – three session series was a collaborative project between CEH’s Multicultural Community Action Network (M-CAN) and Your Sexual Health Yard (YSHY).

The series highlighted some of the most important pillars of safe sex, including:

·         Protection – every time you engage in sexual activity.

·         Making an informed choice

·         Avoiding having sex under the influence of alcohol and drugs

·         Regular Check-ups and testing for Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs)

“Great session! Coming from a conservative country, I have always been shy to talk about sex and contraception. I learned lots of new things today and feel much more comfortable talking about sexual health. Loved the scenario-based activities the most!.”
