Racism in Healthcare highlighted at recent Hepatitis B Forum

On Tuesday our Co-manager Alison spoke at the ‘Spotlight on Hepatitis B’ Forum organised by the Victorian Hepatitis B Alliance, as part of a broader discussion on Racism in Healthcare. Alli highlighted that in terms of treatment of Hep B the discrimination faced by people in Australia accessing health is systemic and reflects a broader problem and it is no coincidence that people facing the most severe forms of racism are also the least healthy. The talk drew on a range of research and looked at Australian Government policies all the way back to 1901, and was well received by the group in attendance.
