Multicultural Health and Support Services supports health and community workers to develop their capacity to work and engage with people from multicultural communities to create inclusive and safe services. We deliver webinars and in-person workshops.

Examples of our past training

Hep B Made Easy
MHSS organised number of online and in person “Hep B Made Easy” workshops with St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne. The workshops covered topics such as cross cultural communication (delivered by MHSS) and Hepatitis B (delivered by St Vincent’s Melbourne). Session with Consumer and Carer’s Network
We delivered workshops to National Multicultural Health Consumer and Carer Network which is an initiative of Australian Multicultural Health Collaborative. The series of workshops trained network members about Australian Healthcare System and ways to advocate for the inclusion of the multicultural communities in national planning and policy.

Regional Workforce Development
MHSS delivered online sessions to community workers in Swanhill and Mildura on how to engage with communities from refugee and miragnt backgrounds, especially around sensitive topics. The webinars were organised with the support from Centre for Excellence in Rural Sexual Health (CERSH).

How to engage with Multicultural Communities on Hepatitis B and Liver Cancer?
MHSS organised an online webinar in March 2024 to explore and discuss on how to work with multicultural communities, particularly about Hepatitis b and Liver Cancer. The webinar was to celebrate Cultural Diversity Week 2024. Speakers from Cancer Council Victoria, LiverWELL, and MHSS presented on this webinar.
