Australian Psychological Society (APS) – Find a Psychologist

The APS offers an online directory of psychologists who provide a service for a fee. To find a psychologist in your area who speaks a language(s) other than English, search by location or issue and then filter results by language.


Bilingual Agency Staff Directory

This directory, developed by the Centre for Cultural Diversity in Ageing, lists aged care services which have bilingual staff that can be hired. It includes biligual nurses, lifestyle staff and personal care workers. is a directory of general practitioners, specialists, dentists and other health professionals who speak the following languages: Mandarin, Cantonese, Bahasa Malay, Bahasa Indonesian, Tagalog, Japabese, Korean and Thai. Gambler's Help In-language Counselling

The Victorian Foundation for Responsible Gambling funds several organisations to provide counselling support, community education and financial counselling to minimise the harms associated with gambling. Services are provided in Arabic, Cantonese, Mandarin and Vietnamese.

Iranian Australian Association of Health Professionals

Provides a Health Professionals Directory listing Iranian-Australian professionals in a range of fields such as general practice, social work, psychology, community nursing and dentistry.

Iraqi Australasian Association Medical Association (IAMA)

Provides a Medical Directory of medical professionals from an Iraqi background practicing in Australia and New Zealand.

Australian Chinese Medical Association of Victoria (ACMAV)

The ACMAV originated as an association of medical practitioners of Chinese background but has since widened its membership to medical students and doctors with an interest in caring for Chinese patients.

Australian Vietnamese Health Professionals Association of Victoria (AVHPAV)

The AVHPAV has a membership of medical and allied health professionals from a Vietnamese background practicing in Victoria. The association provides a forum for networking, sharing ideas and promoting best practice.



Chinese Nurse Association Australia (CNAA)

The CNAA’s members include registered nurses, personal care assistants and other health care professionals from a Chinese background. The organisation provides direct services such as a seniors social group, planned activity groups and a health promotion program.

Hellenic Medical Society of Australia (HMSA)

The HMSA provides public health advocacy, student and doctor mentoring and facilitates networking and fellowship links between medical and health professionals, community and government. The organisations is of medical professionals from a Greek background.


Iranian Australian Association of Health Professionals (IRAHP)

The IRAHP is made up of Iranian medical practitioners, dentists, dieticians, psychologists, social workers and other allied health professionals as well as health scientists and academics. Iraqi Australasian Medical Association (IAMA)

Community Languages Victoria (CLV)

CLV represents over 200 community language schools in Victoria, which provide language and cultural maintenance programs to over 36 000 students in 55 languages. They are complementary providers of language education in mainstream schools.

Modern Language Teachers' Association of Victoria (MLTAV)

The MLTAVis a professional association for language teachers and is the umbrella organisation for approximately 22 Single Language Associations (SLA). The association provides links to current SLAs operating throughout Victoria.

Free Kindergarten Association (FKA)

FKA offer professional learning opportunities, resources and support to education and care services to facilitate the provision of culturally rich environments. The Association also has bilingual support workers who offer consultation services and work with staff, parents and children to support newly arrived children engage and settle in their education setting.

Multicultural Centre for Women’s Health (MCWH)

The MCWH is a national, community based organisation that works with immigrant and refugee women, community organisations, health practitioners and governments to build and share knowledge and promote access to health services for immigrant and refugee women.  The organisation offers a community workshops program, which provides health education sessions facilitated by bilingual health educators, delivered in a range of settings such as community health services, neighbourhood houses, schools and social clubs.

Asian Australian Lawyers Association (AALA)

The AALA is the first incorporated association in Australia to focus on the growing number of Asian Australian lawyers in the profession as well as other lawyers with an interest in Asia. Members hail from more than 10 countries in Asia and, between them, speak almost 20 different Asian languages and dialects.  Members include students, lawyers and principals from small, medium and large firms, barristers, in-house and government lawyers.

Migration Institute of Australia (MIA) – Find an Agent

The MIA provides an online directory of registered bilingual migration agents. Search by location, area of practice, languages spoken and by an agent’s name.

Muslim Legal Network (MLN)

The MLN is a professional association of Australian Muslim legal practitioners and law students. The Association offers networking opportunities, mentoring, community legal education sessions and referral services.

Victorian Legal Aid (VLA)

The VLA provide advice lines in a range of languages. This service is open Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm.
