How Can We Help?

You are here:

Cultural understandings around the causes and impact of disability can lead to discrimination against people living with a disability and their carers. This, in turn, can stop people from accessing services for fear of facing their community’s disapproval.

In this video, a young man of Syrian background talks about his experience with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and the way members of his community responded to his diagnosis.

This video is part of the Disability and Discrimination series produced by the Centre for Culture, Ethnicity and Health. (CEH). CEH offer a range of services and resources for health, community services and local government professionals as well as community members.
