Manager - Seona Powell

 

Seona commenced in the position of Manager, Health Sector Development & Multicultural Gambler’s Help Program at CEH in January 2012.  Seona has had a number of years experience working in the health promotion sector and as a dietician within community based organisations. Her previous roles have included managing the Smiles 4 Miles oral health promotion program at Dental Health Services Victoria and coordinating the bowel cancer screening program at the Cancer Council Victoria. She has also worked within a number of other local and state-based community organisations.

Spase Veljanovski, Project Officer

Spase commenced at CEH in September 2005. He has over 15 years' experience in access and equity work and language services in mental health, local government and community health. He previously managed a team in a community health centre. Spase has a Bachelor of Arts (Multicultural Studies), Graduate Diploma (Arabic Studies) and is currently undertaking postgraduate studies in Public Health. He is a trainer accredited by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

Atena Hensch, Project Officer

Atena commenced at CEH in January 2012. Previously in New Zealand, she worked as a coordinator, facilitator and educator at not-for-profit organisations assisting CALD communities. Atena holds a Bachelor Degree in Translation and Interpreting, specialising in the Persian (Farsi) and Dari languages. Her language service and public speaking skills, coupled with her NFP experience enable Atena to engage with HSD’s project work, training development and facilitation, and education and consultation.

Pauline Gwatirisa, Project Officer

Pauline commenced at the CEH in May 2011. She has several years’ experience working in the community development sector, both in Australia and overseas. She has worked in the multicultural sector in Australia, focussing on the health and well-being of immigrant and refugee women. She holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) Sociology, a Masters in Medical Anthropology and has completed a PhD in Public Health at the University of Melbourne. Her role at the CEH includes training development and delivery, resource development and consultation.
