Double Trouble? A forum on CALD MSM

  • How much can someone be defined by their sexuality or ethnicity?
  • What do particular cultures know, assume and expect in relation to sexuality?
  • Can a public health campaign targeting ‘gay men' reach CALD MSM?
  • If we try really hard, could we find an even worse acronym?

Trying to frame public health strategies for CALD men who have sex with men raises many questions.

This forum aims to gather information that is currently available in order to support further submissions and research.

A panel of community activists, community workers and researchers will kick-start the forum, followed by small group discussions.

We'll ask you to share your knowledge and experience on the following topics:

  • Sexual racism, internalized racism and homophobia
  • Obstacles to health and barriers to service access
  • Sexual practice and spaces
  • Negotiation of family, community, personal and social networks

Together we'll share what we know, what we don't know, and what strategies we can use to improve health outcomes for CALD MSM.
