About the program

The Multicultural Health & Support Service (MHSS) provides information and support to individuals, families and communities on HIV/AIDS, blood-borne viruses (BBV) and sexually transmissible infections (STI).

Most of our work is with East African and Southeast Asian communities living in Victoria. Our services to communities are confidential and free of charge.

We also work with health service providers to ensure that services are accessible and culturally appropriate.

Community support

We assist people and their families to access health services for testing, treatment or information.

Want free and confidential support? Find out more.

Community education

We provide targeted and culturally appropriate information on sexuality, drug use and other risk behaviours, to promote prevention and harm minimisation.

Community action

We raise awareness of issues relating to BBV and STI through community-based projects, campaigns, networking and lobbying.

Culturally sensitive service

We work with mainstream health and community service providers to ensure that STI and BBV services are culturally sensitive and responsive.
