DHS logoThe Department of Human Services supports Victorians most in need to live safe, happy and fulfilling lives. We plan, fund and deliver community and housing services, directly and with our community sector partners across our three portfolios.

Our services are in line with the government's vision for making Victoria a stronger, more caring and innovative state.

DHS portfolios are:

  • Housing - Providing more and better affordable, rental housing. Providing more housing for people who are homeless as well as addressing the causes of homelessness. Providing training and employment opportunities to help public housing tenant's transition out of public housing.
  • Children - Victoria's statutory responsibilities such as child protection and youth justice.
  • Disability - Services that provide support for Victorians with intellectual, physical, sensory and dual disabilities, neurological impairments and acquired brain injury.
